Local Ocean Beach Events
Ocean Beach is host to many fun and festive events throughout the year. Numerous surfing contests are held across the street from the Ocean Beach Hotel and volleyball tournaments are at the north end of the beach. Other sporting tournaments are held at nearby Robb Field. The Ocean Beach Hotel is the perfect location for groups attending these events.Enjoy the incredible OB Farmers Market every Wednesday where you can find fresh locally sourced produce, ready-to-eat local food, homemade arts and crafts, and live music.
While summertime is prime beach days, San Diego's climate offers warm days year round. We suggest wet suits if you are venturing in the water between November and May.
Ocean Beach has active businesses that hold the following events:

Lemon Grove Farmers Market
3 p.m. to 7 p.m., Veteran's Foreign Wars Parking Lot on Lemon Grove Avenue
The Lemon Grove Farmers Market goes down weekly each Thursday at the VFW parking lot at 2885 Lemon Grove Ave. Expect vendors selling fresh fruit, vegetables, herbs and handmade gifts, plus savory dishes from local restaurants. Entry is free; bring money to shop local.
North Park Thursday Market
3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., North Park Way & Granada Avenue (North Park)
North Park is known for its interesting small businesses and, on Thursdays year-round, local vendors and artisans are showcased at this popular farmers market located on the corner of North Park Way and 29 th Street. On the shopping list: farm-fresh fruits and vegetables, meat, eggs, sauces, bread and even handcrafted gifts from local, small businesses. The free event also features live music.
Oceanside Sunset Market
5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Main Street Oceanside
Each Thursday, year-round, the Oceanside Sunset Market brings about 200 local merchants together for this sunset marketplace spanning four blocks in downtown Oceanside. Shoppers can expect vendors showcasing homemade goods and tasty grub, plus live music and, of course, an incredible ocean view. The family-friendly weekly event also features the Dorothy's KidZone filled with activities for the little ones. The free market is located on Pier View Way, west of Coast Highway. Rain may cancel the event, so check the weather before making your plans.
Sushi-Making Class
6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., The Bayside Pavilion
Learn all about the art of making sushi in this 3-hour class at The Bayside Pavilion in Chula Vista. Attendees will work on the basics of handling sushi rice, sashimi slicing and rolling. A $55 fee covers all materials, plus Chef Jeff Roberto (Sushi on a Roll) Omakase menu to munch on, which includes sake and beer.
β90s-Themed College Night Party Cruise
8:30 p.m., Bahia Resort and Mission Bay
The Bahia Resort in Mission Bay will host a 1990s-themed College Night Party Cruise aboard its resident vessel, the Bahia Belle, this Thursday night. And organizers promise it'll be βall that and a bag of chips.β Attendees are encouraged to sport their best β90s gear; the cruise will include multiple levels of DJs, a lit dance floor and, of course, stellar views. Tickets cost $10; the boat boards at 8:30 p.m. from the resort and returns at midnight.
