With modern concrete decor and local art on the wall, this 21+ establishment is brewing up a cool scene and some delicious beer with an swagger all it's own. Geared more towards the 20 to 30 something crowd, this hip spot is a great place to enjoy a hefe or a stout while putting out the vibe. Located right next door to the wonderful OB Warehouse, Culture Brewing is the perfect spot to enjoy a post-dinner beverage… okay, maybe a few post-dinner beverages.

Hess Brewing

Mike Hess is one of the most well respected brewers in San Diego and when the rumors came true that Hess Brewing was opening up a tasting room in OB, people couldn't wait to check it out. Although this spot is over on Voltaire (about 10 blocks from the hotel), the walk is well worth it to try some of the best brews coming out of San Diego. My favorite is the Jucundus - a sessionable wheat beer. Located just across the street from the original and eternally popular OB Noodle House, this is a great spot to grab a pint while you wait for your table to be ready!

Helms Brewing Company

The tasting room for Helm's Brewing is in the heart of OB on the corner of Newport Avenue and Cable Street. With big open windows this is the perfect spot to enjoy a craft brew and people watch - especially on Wednesdays for the Farmer's Market. With over 20 craft beers on tap from various breweries including Helm's, you are sure to get a sip of a beer you like, or maybe even a few sips of a few you like!

The opening of OB Brewery is a big deal in OB. Not only does the place have a well regarded brewmaster mixing up the recipes, it also has an amazing interior design and spectacular roof-top deck. With brews and views like this, it's no wonder the place is the new hot-spot in Ocean Beach. I suggest the OB Brewery IPA - it's quite delicious!
